Yesterday we got the title in the mail. It was perfect because I was already taking today off and I could get the truck ready and posted on craigslist. So today I got up and started cleaning the truck at about 7:30. I was surprised to find many of Martin's cleaning supplies still atop mom's filing cabinet in the garage. Thanks Hooty Hoo! I used them to spiffy up the old Isuzu and get all that oxidized paint off. Wash, wax and tire scrub were all included. Then she was ready for the photos which were great as you can see. After the shoot I got in and created the listing on craigslist. I then received an email explaining the post would be live in fifteen minutes. Before that time was even up I had four potential buyers dropping inquiries in my inbox. Thanks Craig! The first wanted to know what work was needed so I responded excitedly and waited for a response. None was given so I moved on. Next up was Angel who just left his number. For future reference if you leave your number you might get the buy before another. I called him and he said he could see it now. After driving it we negotiated a price, right in the middle of both of our primary exchange desires. So we worked out the title, he left a down payment so we would hold it and he is on his way over tonight with his wife to pick it up. Total time needed to prepare (the other day I spent a little time getting it to idle and pumping up th tires with mom's bike pump), clean, publish and sell: 6 hours. By the time I had gotten back form the test drive and deleted the post I had received a total of ten emails requesting info. So it was a happy ending to a long road of memories. Remember when Tyden came to seminary and there was a bird in the grill, or the time you(Hootz) had to syphon out gas for Nan during the gas crisis of '03. Mom recalls a trip to the emmisions station with Big T and all that heat one summer. The dirve to work last summer was an enjoyable one for me after I returned home from Argentina.I'm sure there are so many more so just post them up and help us share in the memory together.
