Dear Mia

Dear Mia,

I saw this video posted on a friends blog and I really liked the concept. I thought it was super sweet. In an attempt to do this for you, I'm going to write you letters on our blog. I can't believe that you are already 2 months old! I guess everyone is right...with kids, time goes by super fast. I am sad that 2 months have already gone by, but I'm super excited to see what comes next. You have started to actually reach for toys now and y
ou are more alert when you are awake and love to look around. It makes everything so much more fun now. You have also been sleeping a lot better at night, thanks to the swing we borrowed (Thank you Shelley and Ryan!), so that makes the whole family a lot happier. We are usually able to get you to sleep for two 5 hour stretches, so basically that is only one feeding in the middle of the night. This probably doesn't matter to you, but it makes me and Daddy really happy. :)

Mia, here are some of the things I love about you:
- Your beautiful, dark hair (It's like your Grandpa Paul's hair- dark, thick and wavy.)
- Your deep blue eyes (Yes, just like mine.)
- Your cute nose (I was really hoping you would get your Daddy's nose and you did!)
- The cute dolphin noises you make when you start waking up
- The fact that you cry when we leave the room (I'm sure it will be annoying soon, but right now it is very cute that you want to be with us.)
- The way you try to talk when you're eating (It makes me laugh so hard every time!)
- Your smile (Please show it to us more often!)
- Your developing curiosity in everything new
- The way that giving you food is an instant cry stopper
- The way you randomly cry out in the middle of your sleep
- The shake of your head when you try to tell us you need to burp
- Your love of bath-time (Hopefully this will last!)
- Your constant need to cuddle with me all day long (I love snuggling with you too!)
- The adorable outfits, bows and socks that you let me dress you up in
- Your instant alertness when Daddy comes home (Yes, you are a daddy's girl.)
- The cute nicknames that we get to call you (BugaBoo, ShmigidyBoo, MiaBobinaBoo)
- Your willingness to lift your head up during tummy time just to make me happy (You are soo strong!)
- The way your eyes go back and forth when you watch the mobile go round and round
- How awesome you are at spitting up on Daddy (You have spit up on way too many of his shirts, but he still loves you. :))

I am so glad that I get to be home with you. Now that I'm feeling so much more confident about what I'm doing, I have been able to start having fun. It might also help that I'm actually getting sleep now. :) I can't wait to watch you actually play with your toys and start smiling and laughing, because you mean it. Thank you for bringing so much joy to being a Mom!

I love you forever!

Love,
Mommy

Here are some pictures from the past month.

Thank you Grandma LuLu for coming to visit! We sure appreciated the help at night and all of the food you cooked for us. We are still working on finishing it. It has been great! Thanks for everything!
