Mia- 10 Months

Dear Mia,

There is so much to catch up on!  You have been keeping Daddy and I super super busy!!  You are so active!  It has been so much fun though.  When you first turned 8 months old, you had just figured out how to crawl and you have taken off since then.  Now you cruise all over the place.  Once you have your mind set on getting somewhere, you always manage to find a way to get there.  Even if Mommy and Daddy set up obstacles.  You are almost ready to start walking now too.  As long as you have a couch or a hand to hold onto you walk really well.  Daddy likes to try and make you stand by yourself, but you seem to have figured out what he's trying to do.  Everytime he tries now, you let your legs go limp, so he can't let go of you.

It is so much fun being home with you all day long.  It still is hard to get you to go to sleep, but once you are asleep you take long naps now.  Occasionally I will even get a 4 hour nap, but usually it's around 2.5 hours.  I love it though!  It lets me get some work done, so we can play with you wake up.  Daddy and I have been able to get you laugh more too.  You like it when we tickle you under your chin or when we blow raspberries on your tummy.  Feeding you has become a little more of a challenge.  You were in this phase where you would always blow out right when we put the spoon in your mouth.  Daddy and I didn't like to feed you when you did that.  You would always get food all over our clothes!  You are still a really happy baby and love to just crawl and walk around in search of all of your toys.  It's fun just watching you and Lexi play, unfortunately most of the time with Lexi's toys.  You are both just content on your own though.

You and Lexi are quite the pair.  You both are super concerned about each other.  When you're in your high chair, you are always on the lookout for Lexi running on the floor underneath you.  Luckily, you only seem to throw your spoon on the floor for her and not you actual food.  I'm sure it won't be long though before you realize what happens when you give her some though!  It is always cute to open your door when you wake up and see Lexi rush in to greet you.  You always feel bad when you see her in her crate and rush over to see if she's okay.  We have acutally been trying to train her to not need it anymore, but we have to feed her in there, so you don't get into her food.

And Lexi turned two in February!  I think you wanted her Birthday bone as much as she did, but we let her eat it all by herself.  Lexi is pretty much your best friend and we love having her as part of our family!

Mia, you melted my heart the other day.  I had a fever and wasn't feeling very well and I was just sitting on the floor playing with you.  You looked up and me and wanted to come over, so I reached out so you could grab my hand and you took about 4 steps toward me.  As you were walking, you kept nuzzling you nose towards me and gave me kisses once you got to me.  It was the cutest thing!  Thank you!  Ever since we got that video of you giving Daddy kisses, we haven't been able to get you to do it again.  But, you gave me one when I needed it!  I love you!

Two nights ago was when we got the most laughs out of you, well Daddy got them out of you.  He just kept tickling you and you were loving it!  I'm so glad I snapped some pictures because they turned out sooo cute!

This collage is my favorite!  These are all of your favorites places that Daddy and I can't believe you can get into.  You love to climb into your carseat whenever you see it on the floor.  And your toy car is your absolute favorite toy at the moment.  You get the biggest smiles with we push you around on it or when you push it across the room.  The other day you crawled into the center of the table and got stuck.  You thought it was funny for a little bit, but then you didn't like it, so I had to rescue you.  Anwhere that you see Lexi, is another favorite place.  She is sooo patient with you and you both adore each other.  Anytime I start to load or empty the dishwasher you come racing into the kitchen to try and climb up on the door.  I still don't know what you find so exciting about it, but there must be something!  Your other favorite place is your toy chest.  You will stand up against it and dig and dig all of the way to the bottom of it and pull out the most random toy.  It's actually really funny to watch you with it.

Our Favorite Things about Mia:
- Your Laugh
- The cry you make when you're telling us your teeth hurt.  You scrunch up your face and push your jaw out and let out a super cute cry.
- Daddy loved that the first time you saw a toy car, you knew that you were supposed to push it around.  You are definitely your Daddy's daughter!
- Your Kisses
- All of your cute sounds and babbling
- Your curiosity and determination to discover new things
- The way that you drink your bottle while holding it with only one hand.
- Seeing you standing in your crib waiting for us to come get you.  You always give us the biggest smiles when you wake up!
- Your Toughness.  You will fall and bump your head pretty hard and rarely ever cry.
- The fact that "mamama" means "I want my bottle" and "dadada" means "I'm really tired."
- The way to lean to look around us when we're holding you.

We love you Mia!  I don't know what we'd do without you!  You have brought so much more happiness to our lives that we even thought possible.

XOXO
