Dear Mia,
You are the cutest one year old!! I love that I get to hang out and play with you everyday! You are so happy all of the time and like to smile at everyone. I wish you would cuddle with me sometimes, but at least you are always happy. You are so good at entertaining yourself too. You have been teething somemore and now you have almost 6 teeth in on the top and 4 on the bottom. You have been a trooper! I know that teething isn't very fun. Now that you have teeth, you have been able to try a lot more food. You do really good at picking things up with your hands and feeding yourself. We still have to feed you with the spoon though. You love to pick the spoon up and drop it on the floor for Lexi, but unfortunately that means you don't get any food in your mouth. Some of your favorite foods right now are diced pears, cheese, and meat. You especially love food with flavor.
We introduced you to bubbles for the first time the other day and you loved them. It was so fun seeing the excitement on your face! Anyday you are going to take your first steps. You are almost there! You can stand for quite a bit of time without holding onto anything except a toy. You love it when Mommy and Daddy hold your hands to help you walk around the house. You especially love it when we help you chase Lexi. That's when we get the biggest laughs out of you!
Luckily, we have been having nice weather in Seattle. We threw you a small birthday party at Farrel McWhirter Park over in Redmond. We grilled hot dogs (kosher ones) and ate lunch over at the park. I made you some super cute ladybug cupcakes too! You didn't really know what to do with yours though. You grabbed the ladybug's head and dropped it on the ground. After that, you ate a few bites of cake, but you really weren't that interested in it. After we ate, we went over to see the farm animals. You loved the pony! You would have crawled right over the fence to see him if I had let you! Lastly, we hung out on the swings. You absolutely loved the baby swing! It was a great party!
I love you Mia! I'm so glad that I get to be your Mom! If this past year is any indication of what to expect in the future, it is going to be a blast!!
Love,
Mommy
