More of Lexi

So now that Eric and I have a puppy we have more to post about. Hopefully, I will post on the blog more often now! We have been having a blast with Lexi. She is sooo incredible smart and so fun to train. She is already able to sit, lay down, wait, go to her bed/crate, shake and roll over. If she is distracted it's a little harder to get her to do the command, but she has been doing a really good job and we are really impressed. She had her first vet visit on Saturday and she did really good there too. She loves to meet new people and was so excited when the vet came in. She didn't even notice the vet give her the shot and the only thing she didn't like was when they cut her nails. The vet said she was extremely healthy and that the only thing we need to worry about is getting her to eat more food. We actually were already in the process of switching her to a better brand and she seems to like it a lot better, so I think she will start to gain more weight quickly.

These pictures are from over the last 2 weeks and you can already see how much bigger she is getting. She looks so much bigger when looking at her from the back.

She already looks bigger than her bowl. When we first got her I took a picture of her by her bowl because she looked like she could fit right inside of it! Even though she is getting bigger, she still looks tiny compared to hubby! Aren't they cute?!

Hubby's sock was Lexi's first favorite toy. We put 3 socks in her crate to help her smell us when we weren't home as a comfort thing and she really liked this long white one of hubby's. We would play catch with the sock because the tennis ball is still to big for her mouth. Then we saw this bone pillow at PetsMart for only $3 and it squeaks! This has become her new favorite toy and it was probably the best 3 dollars we have ever spent. When Eric and I throw it back and forth to each other, she jumps right into our laps and if we throw it far enough for her to run for it, she does this cute little prance and jump before she grabs it in her mouth.
Since it has still been cold in Seattle, I decided Lexi needed a coat. I haven't used my sewing machine in a really long time, but decided that I would try to make her one. I measured her according the pattern and as you can see, it's way too big for her. I guess she'll grow into it. Unfortunately, it will be summer when it actually fits her and then it will be too warm. I'll just have to wait to make her a bigger one when she's full-grown! It's funny watching her waddle around in it though!

It's definitely easier to blog when you have a cute pet or child. :) And what better way to practice your sewing skills than on your dog? Great idea!

We need to catch up ... it has been too long!
