IT'S A BABY GIRL!!!
Our ultrasound went really well. She is a perfectly healthy baby girl and we couldn't be more excited! We also found out that I am five days farther along than we thought, so that moves the due date up to June 11th! That was great news too!
Eric and I both thought Baby Summers was going to be a boy. Eric had analyzed the current pattern of neices and nephews and the firstborn of each of his siblings and had me convinced we were having a boy. As soon as the ultrasound tech turned the camera on our baby she said right away that we were having a girl. I was shocked. My response was, "Really? It's a girl? Are we for sure, for sure that it's a girl?" After she confidently said there was no way our baby was a boy, I just sat their speechless. I don't think it was until the next morning when I woke up that the shock finally wore off. I turned to Eric and I said, "We're having a baby girl!!" Other than the fact that Eric's worried that he's going to be outnumbered (3 to 1 since our puppy is also a girl), we are very very excited. Bring on the pink! She's going to be a girly girl!
I think seeing her move around in the ultrasound made her seem so much more real to me than before. The day after our ultrasound I finally figured out what her kicking feels like. Now I realize that she's been kicking for a while and I had always thought my stomach was just acting up. Now I feel her kicking throughout the day. I can't wait until she starts kicking harder so Eric can feel her too. It's so amazing going through this experience and thinking about everything that's going on.
Peek-A-Boo
So, apparently our little girl is a little bit camera shy. She kept her hand over her face when the tech tried to get some of her 4-D pictures, so the tech had to keep poking at her.
She finally started to get brave enough to move her hand.
And then a little braver to actually peek out.
And at last, pulled her hand away to show us her cute face! We already know she is going to be such a little cutie!
