So, I can't claim ownership of these ideas, but I did take part in them. The people I work with are really fun and they come up with some of the craziest ideas sometimes. It definitely makes work more interesting, especially at a Doctor's office!
The first prank that was played was free Jack Johnson Concert Tickets. Last year, some girls in the office played an April Fools Prank on our office manager. They taped pictures of donkeys on every single index card of his roladex before he got to work and then asked him later in the day to find someone's contact information. He then had to untape every single one to be able to see the information he had in there. He waited a whole year for retaliation and only one of the girls who was in on the donkey joke was still at the office (the other one had a baby in January and was still out for April Fools Day). He knew that she loved Jack Johnson and decided to write a fake letter saying that she had won free tickets. He knew her sister's name and claimed that her sister had submitted her name and she had won tickets. The company name he came up with was C"april Fool"ands and the address was 4109 No. Way Blvd. The letter told her to go to ticketmaster.com to claim her tickets and the code was URPU4262643468NKED (URPUNKED and the numbers dialed in a phone read I am an idiot). Our office manager picks up the mail everyday and gives half of it to our target lady to do the deposit with. He added this piece of mail addressed to her in the middle and dropped it off on her desk. When she opened the letter on April Fools Day she started screaming, I won Jack Johnson Tickets, I won Jack Johnson Tickets! At least three other people in the office remined her of what day it was and she told them it wasn't a joke because the letter looked so professional (This is where my role played part because I designed the letterhead) and it even had her sister's name in it. Even after these other people examined the letter they agreed that the letter looked professional. I guess none of them looked at the company name or the address very closely. ;) She called her sister to thank her for submitting her name and when she didn't answer the phone, she started to look around on the website to claim the tickets. At this point in time, our office manager reminded her of the joke she played on him last year and confessed that the tickets were fake. She was pretty upset. We'll just have to wait and see what she does next!
The second prank was not as intense, but everyone still enjoyed it. One of the girls at the office got her nose pierced about a month ago. Our office manager, yes the same one, bought fake stick on nose rings to have everyone in the office wear one day. He decided it had to be April Fools Day and we all put them on while she was out of the office getting charts from our storage location. When she came back, it took her a little while to notice, but eventually she did and we all laughed. The best part about this prank was that we all wore the nose rings home and got to see the reactions of our spouses. Eric noticed it pretty quick and tried to look for evidence that it really was real. I guess I couldn't keep a straight face long enough for him and he figured it out. :) It was pretty fun though!
I guess I didn't really ever get into the pranks for April Fools Day when I was growing up. Does anyone else have any good ones they remember from past April Fools Days? I might need ideas at this office!

That's really funny. I can just imagine how crazy the office would have been. I'm sorry I missed the Jack Johnson victim's reaction. I miss that part of working in the office.
