Ari- 2 Months

 

 

Dear Ari,

 

I can't believe you are already over 2 months old!  It's so crazy that you have been with us for that long already.  You are a very strong baby girl and you have had to overcome a lot so far.  In your first month of life, we struggled a lot with nursing.  Either you didn't have energy to get enough food, or I was hurting too much.  We finally got that all figured out though.  Then we were presented with a new problem...Acid Reflux.  Mia had that too, so we thought we knew how to help you.  The Zantac medication didn't help you though and you just screamed with pain constantly.  For weeks, you would do these long stretches of screaming at night from 10pm-4am.  Luckily, Mia never woke up during that, but Mommy and Daddy were both awake the whole time trying to help you get comfortable.  Then you'd be super fussy all day long.  After working with your Pediatrician for a while, we decided to put you on Prevacid, a new medicine and I borrowed an Ergo baby carrier from a friend.  The Prevacid didn't seem to kick in for a couple weeks, but you seem to be much happier now.  You also live in the Ergo carrier because you only find comfort while being held upright.  At least now I can have two hands again and I don't have to listen to you scream from me putting you down!  Hopefully, we can keep the Acid Reflux under control and keep our baby girl happy again! Two days ago, was the first time in a long time that you able to lay under your playmat for longer than 5 minutes without screaming.  You also are awake and happy now!  It makes me sooo happy, just to see my baby girl happy again!

 



You also had your baby blessing a few weeks ago.  You looked beautiful in your blessing gown!  Thank you Grandma JJ for getting it for you!  I was super proud of the flower headband I made for you.  One thing that stood out a lot, was that Daddy said peace 3 times during your blessing.  I don't have my notes in front of me, so I don't remember exactly what was said, but I thought it was pretty cool that it came up so many times.

 

We all love you lots and are soo happy that you are part of our family!
