The thing I miss most about home is the beautiful fall colored leaves. In WA and even here in UT, we can find small pockets of fall leaves, but nothing compares to the leaves out in the Northeast. We decided to book a trip out there, so we could enjoy them. I flew out a week before Eric and survived the plane trip alone with both girls. I wrapped up surprises for them to unwrap and play with throughout the flights. Unfortunately, Ari only slept for about a half hour, but we made it! We had lots of fun with Grandma JJ and Grandpa Paul. It was fun watching them all play together. I wish the flights weren't so long and expensive, so we could go back more often!
The girls loved playing with Grandpa, cooking with Grandma, playing with Grandma's Halloween decorations, riding the carousel, walking around Congress park, attending storytime, pushing miniature shopping carts through Target, and reading books.
We had fun picking apples at the apple orchard. We got some really yummy ones, but unfortunately, I don't remember which ones were our favorites. The girls had fun riding the cow train, picking pumpkins and apples, riding the tire swings, watching the llamas and playing outside in the orchard.
After Eric got into town, we had fun at a farm petting animals, racing go-carts, riding trains, learning to lasso pretend cows, picking pumpkins, sitting in wagons, and playing with sand.
The Saratoga Children's Museum was a favorite place for the girls to hang out. We actually went twice. They fell in love with the pretend store and loved playing with the mailboxes, bank, sand bin, paint, fire truck, restaurant kitchen and trolley.
We had fun hiking to a waterfall nearby. Ari didn't seem to like the ergo anymore and wanted to walk, like Mia, or be held. Mia loved running on the trails!
Those two weeks certainly went by fast! We had a lot of fun though! The girls always look forward to when they get to see Grandma JJ and Grandpa Paul next. Thanks for the fun memories Grandma and Grandpa!
