Dear Ari,
Ari Bo-Bari! You are such a sweetheart! You have such a sweet personality. It has been fun seeing it start to show, now that your are older and speaking and more aware of things around you. You are a little comedian! Sometimes you say the funniest things! We love it!
Being the middle child, I think you make sure to not take your personal undivided attention for granted. When you're alone with me, you turn into a little chatterbox! When we're alone in the car, you'll have conversations with me. Mia must take over the conversations when she's around or something, because it always surprises me to hear you talk to me so much. Three days a week, Mia goes to preschool and I have a short window of time alone with you, before you do down for your nap and another short window once you wake up. You are so adorable! It's one of the few times during the day that I'm able to just hold you and get big hugs from you. You love it when I read to you or sing to you before tucking you in. Your whole face lights up. It's so cute. I love having those sweet moments with you. Lately, your naps have been getting shorter, so we have a little more time together, before it's time to go get Mia. Usually, I'm finishing up a project and you love to come help me or just sit close and snuggle and watch. You're always excited when it's time to go pick up Mia though, so apparently I'm just not as entertaining as your big sister. :)
You adore Callie. It is the sweetest thing to watch. Anytime she looks at you, you both get the biggest smile. You have always been so sweet with her too. I've never noticed you get jealous of her either. You also love playing with your stuffed animals and baby dolls. Rocco, your Racoon with the pink eyes, is definitely your favorite. You put him down for naps and even in time out frequently during the day. If you're not playing with him, you either have a baby doll or a stuffed elephant that your pushing in the stroller or feeding in the high chair.
You are a girlie girl! You love your dolls, but you also love your shoes and clothes too! Every time I pull out the next size of shoes, you get so giddy with excitement and have to try every pair on. You are also very decided about your fashion choices. A lot of times you are determined to wear shorts when it's freezing out. You also tend to favor polka dots with stripes. The funny thing is that the colors usually are the same and you say they match! Whenever you show us your outfits or put a necklace on, you brush your hand over your tummy and say, "I so pretty!" It's adorable!
Sharing is definitely one of your strengths. I'm always amazed at how awesome you are at bringing things, like treats, to Mia. You have never once kept them for yourself and you always bring hers to her first and then come back to get yours. Hopefully, you can pass that awesomeness onto Callie and train her well too!
Potty training is your current project right now. You really really want to wear underwear, like your big sister. We keep trying to work on it, but you get frustrated. You are progressing though! You have gone in the toilet quite frequently. You catch us off guard though and will go for a while without diapers on under your clothes until we find a puddle and start investigating. Hopefully we can finish up the potty training soon!
We've been trying to work on things like colors and animals with you. You have learned a lot in the past couple months! You seem to know your colors and now and most animal names and sounds. I think we will work on shapes now.
We love you so much Ari! Your sweet smile and hugs are so awesome! I hope we get to receive those lots more in the future!
XOXO,
Mommy
Ari-isms:

Mia has started reading (for short spurts, as best she can) to Ari every now and then. The other morning they were looking at books. Ari said to Mia, "...the big bad woof (wolf)...what does it say right here?"

One morning Ari went through the
entire family singing:
"Bob the Ari, Can you fix
it? Bob the Ari, Yes, you can!"
This was followed by Daddy, Mommy, Callie, Mia and Lexi. Except for
some of our verses ended with, "No, you can't!"Oct 27, 2015
Ari (while brushing her hand over
her tummy): "I so pretty!" This is usually followed by a huge grin.
:) Today's outfit choice was a dalmatian spotted shirt with zebra stripped
pants!
Nursery falls during nap time every
Sunday. Some weeks Ari is super happy and they tell us she is a chatterbox (we
wonder what family secrets she shares on those days :) ). Other weeks she is
super grumpy and they say she growls at them in response to every question.
Hopefully there are more chatterbox days in the future!
I told Ari to show her pig tails
(pony tails) to her Dad and she showed her bum to him while reaching behind
herself to find her tail. She then said, "I don't know where it is."
Ari painted a picture and referred
to it as "crazy hyper nuts." This is a line from a book called,
"Daddies Do It Different," where a Dad tickles his daughter until
she's crazy hyper nuts. I replied, "Oh, You painted people who are
going crazy, hyper nuts! That's so cool!" Later, she showed Daddy some
people she painted and then pointed to the picture she showed me earlier and
said, "these are those people's nuts." Apparently, all this time, she
thought we were talking about peanuts!

Daddy brought Ari upstairs to go potty on the toilet. She started to tinkle and said, “I’m going!” Daddy said, “Good job, Ari!” She responded with, “Wheeeeeeeeee!”

Daddy asked Ari to go make her bed. She ran to her bedroom door and opened it. She then paused and said, "Nope. Sorry. I don't know how." Then she closed the door and went downstairs.
The girls decided to go outside to watch Daddy mow the lawn and grabbed their shoes to put on. Ari put both of her sandals on, which have buckles that can be difficult for her, and came outside to show Daddy. She then said, "Daddy, say good job! I put my shoes on by myself." Daddy said, "Good job Ari." Ari then turned to Mia and said, "Say good job." Mia said "Good job Ari." Ari smiled proudly.

I put Callie in the car and shut the door. Ari said, "I want to talk to Callie," and opened the gas tank door and said, "Hi Callie. How are you?"

Dinner Conversation
D: How did you like your pizza?
A: Good. You're funky Daddy!
M: Funky rhymes with Monkey!
During sacrament meeting at church.
Ari looks over at Callie and starts yelling excitedly, "Baby's awake! Baby opened her eyes!" Before I could even say shhhh, since it’s during church, she then yells, "Roar!" As I ask her to be quiet, Callie responds with a loud "Oooooo."

Ari says, “Peek-a-you!” instead of “Peek-a-boo!”
Aug 13, 2015
I walked in the room to get Ari to
go up to bed and found her singing to Callie. She was singing, "Jesus
wants me for a sunbeam," and would lift Callie's fist up each time she
said "sunbeam."

Ari saw Mia pretending to nurse her
baby doll and decided to copy her. She held the baby up in perfect nursing
position and said, "I'm feeding my baby! She's eating milk!"
Jul 25, 2015
We were picking raspberries and Mia
started getting frustrated because Ari kept eating them. I told Mia it was
okay. Mia asked why and I said, "Because Ari is just being Ari." Ari
then looked up at me, very concerned, and said, "Why I Ari?" :) I
responded with, “You just are.” :)

Eric set the girls up with his laptop to watch a movie. At one point, he told them to pause it, so they could go do something else. Ari started yelling, progressively getting louder, "Xbox Pause...Xbox Pause...Xbox, Why you not pause?...Xbox Pause!" Eric finally helped them pause it. It's funny thinking about how much technology has changed just from my generation to their's.
Ari woke up in the middle of the night and ran in our room to check on baby Callie. She ended up falling asleep on the floor under the rock n play. When Callie woke up a couple hours later, Ari stayed by her side and watched her eat. Callie just stared back at her. Ari kept watching and asking about what we were doing.

The girls always ask, “Can we pet Callie?” We had to explain that you pet dogs and you ask to hold, touch or cuddle with babies.
