Fall 2015

This Fall has been super busy.  Here is a peek at what we've been up to.

Mia started her second year of preschool and absolutely loves it.  Ari was sad on the first day because she wanted to stay with Mia too.  She has now adjusted to our new routine, but is always excited when it's time to pick up Mia again.

Then we celebrated Eric's birthday!  We got to see family and share a yummy cheesecake!

Eric decided he wanted to build a sit and stand desk using things from Ikea.  I researched on Pinterest and made the list.  Then he put it all together.  I definitely looks much nicer that the fold up table he had been using!

Then Eric scheduled a surprise trip to see his Mom for her 60th Birthday.  Tayler flew out to surprise her too.  They did an Ice Cream Shop theme and spent lots of time with family and friends.  I even survived all by myself with all 3 girls for the weekend!  I'm quite proud of that accomplishment!  :)

The weekend of his Mom's Birthday just happened to be the same weekend as Blake's 1st Birthday party.  Eric was able to show up as a surprise guest for that party too.

Shortly after that trip, we were able to get a short visit from my parents.  The girls definitely love having Grandma and Grandpa around!  They read books, played at the Nickelcade and got to swim in the pool.  We were sad to see them leave, but it was nice of them to come visit us!

We've been wanted to be more proactive at making it to the temple every month.  We used to be really good at going once a month, as a couple, and then we had kids.  For some reason, lining up a babysitter everytime has kept us away for longer than we'd like to admit.  The Payson Temple was dedicated in June and we haven't missed a month since then.  We think it's important for the girls to be part of this goal too, so they know how important the temple is to us.  We decided that some months we'll go as a couple without them and some months we'll all go together as a family and just walk around outside.

One of the girls' favorite things to do is have dance parties.  Eric decided to set up the camera for one of them to catch some of the excitement!  As you can see, even Callie gets excited to watch her big sisters dance.  I bet she'll be joining them in no time!

In October, we celebrated my birthday!  Eric definitely spoiled me!  He made a peanut butter mousse brownie cake along with a yummy steak and shrimp dinner!  It was amazing!

The girls have been earning rocks to fill up their rock jars when they help with chores, etc. Once their jar is full, they either get to go on a one-on-one date with Mommy or Daddy or we all get to go on a fun family outing together.  We decided to take them to a Trampoline Gym and it was a blast.  They had a foam pit fight with Daddy and got to swing out on ropes and jump around. We all loved it!

Mia's preschool class went on a field trip to a pumpkin patch.  They actually went to 2 different ones.  It was fun seeing the other kids in her class.  Ari is always excited for any opportunity to join in on the fun, so she was happy to be there too.

As Halloween got closer, the girls got excited about decorating their pumpkins.  We wanted to do the "teal pumpkin" thing again and hand out glow bracelets, instead of candy, so Daddy spray painted their pumpkins.  The girls added polka dots and we stuck faces in them.  It was a fun night.

Mia and Ari decided they wanted to be fairies this year.  Mia was a green fairy (for some reason she never wanted to say Tinkerbell) and Ari was a purple fairy.  Callie was a little ladybug.  They sure looked cute!  This was the first year we actually took them trick or treating from door to door.  Last year I was sick (morning sickness), so we skipped it and in Woodinville, we didn't live in a good neighborhood for it.  The girls kept saying "trick or treating" instead of trick or treat, at first.  The girls must really love lollipops because whenever they had a choice, that's what they would take.  I tried hinting that they should take the chocolate ones, so some of my favorites were there, but they would take a lollipop or something else and then ask if they could also have one of the ones I had said I liked.  Mia also has proclaimed a favorite candy.  She loves Dots and definitely makes sure she knows where those yellow boxes are at all times!  There were a couple times where Mia just walked right into houses.  Luckily, we only went to homes of friends of ours, so we knew them.  At one, she wanted to see their fish tank and at another, they had left their door wide open while they were inside grabbing something and she just went to look for them.  We explained trick or treating etiquette and they did much better.  They were super excited.  It was fun.  After we got back, they handed out our glow bracelets to whoever knocked on our door.  They loved taking turns opening up the door and holding out the basket for kids to chose from.  That night, we let them each eat 3 pieces of candy and then chose 5 pieces each to set aside for later.  They left the rest of their candy out for the Halloween Fairy.  She took it and left them each a coloring book and puzzle!

October has been super fun.  Callie became more aware of Lexi and tries to pet her.  Her and Lexi had some fun bonding moments.  Ari has become quite the fashionista!  She tends to choose polka dots with stripes, but the colors are usually coordinated.  Mia seems the have the same fashion sense as me and always has to have things match.

Eric and I celebrated our 8th Anniversary.  We went on a super fun date night and painted canvas pictures.  I had seen people do it before, but hadn't thought about it much.  A week and a half before our Anniversary , I randomly asked Eric if that was something he'd be interested in.  He wanted to try it, since his grandparents were painters, to see if he was any good.  I had never painted a canvas before, but thought it would be fun to try.  The very next day, a friend of mine posted a painting she had just done at a class with a friend.  I got the website from her and found a super cool painting that just happened to be scheduled for the actual day of our Anniversary.  It was so fun!  We both feel super proud of ourselves that we actually were able to paint a cool picture.  I think there may be more canvas painting in our future!  :)  Happy Anniversary Hubby!  I love you tons and tons and can't wait to see what happens in the next 8 years!
